Pathfinder Pictures is a U.S. based film distribution
and production company which was established in
1998 to focus on bringing the works of emerging
and established filmmakers to the mainstream. The
company distributes approximately 20-30 films annually
into the U.S. theatrical, home video and television
markets.
The
company’s theatrical catalogue
includes several films from acclaimed director
Takashi Miike (Gozu) and Claude Chabrol (Les
Biches),
the critically acclaimed Indian film The Terrorist (presented by John Malkovich), the restored version
of the legendary Master of the Flying Guillotine and
Abel Ferrara’s ‘R Xmas.
More recent theatrical releases include the Latino
comedy Loco Love and the Bollywood
spy-thriller The Hero.
Recent productions include Double Deception
(which starred Louis Mandylor), the sci-fi thriller
Shadow Fury (distributed by
Lion’s
Gate) and the drama Until The Night starring
Norman Reedus, Kathleen Robertson, Michael T. Weiss
and Sean Young. Pathfinder also produced Chris Chan
Lee’s Yellow,
which was the first Asian American independent film.
The company is in development on
a horror films The Sibling and Halfs, a
dark action film Basic Jane and Handful
of Tears, a
drama based on a ture story.
In
2002, the company successfully expanded into the
DVD/video distribution market and has already released
over 140 titles onto DVD under the Pathfinder
Home Entertainment and Asterix
Home Entertainment labels. Films
include the classic works of Claude
Chabrol, the martial arts cult hit Master
of the Flying Guillotine, the
horror classic
The
Monster Club, Andre Techine's
Barocco, Takashi
Miike's GOZU,
Andromedia, to
more recent American indie films as Jake Torem's Looking
Through Lillian,
Tom Huang’s interracial comedy Freshmen, On
The Run starring Michael Imperioli,
and Ed & His
Dead Mother starring
Steve Buscemi.
In 2005, Pathfinder formed the CirclePost
Productions division to extend our services
to independent filmmakers.
